ARCHIVE NO. 002 — DANCE FOR THE GODS

Some prayers are never spoken.

They are danced.

On the Christopher Street Pier, beneath the moonlight and the New York skyline, young LGBTQ+ people carried burdens that few could see. Many had been rejected by their families. Many had no permanent home. Yet even in the midst of uncertainty, they found moments of beauty, freedom, and grace.

This artwork was inspired by a young man whose dance became something more than movement. It was an act of faith, resilience, and survival. Every step seemed to reach beyond the world around him—as if he were asking to be seen, to be protected, or simply to know that he belonged.

A Dance for the Gods honors those quiet moments when movement became prayer and self-expression became an act of hope. It reminds us that even in life's darkest seasons, the human spirit has an extraordinary ability to create light.
